Gleeful.me – Payment Terms

1. General
All payments made on the Gleeful.me platform (“Platform”) are subject to these Payment Terms, which form part of the overall Terms and Conditions.
By submitting a payment on the Platform, you agree to these terms in full.
2. Accepted Payment Methods
2.1. Gleeful.me accepts card payments only.
2.2. The following card networks are supported:
- Visa (debit and credit cards)
- Mastercard (debit and credit cards)
2.3. Payments made using other methods (including bank transfers, digital wallets, or cash equivalents) are not accepted unless explicitly authorised by Gleeful.me in writing.
3. Secure Payment Processing
3.1. All card payments are processed through PCI-DSS–compliant payment service providers (PSPs) authorised under the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and/or the EU Payment Services Directive 2 (PSD2).
3.2. Gleeful.me does not collect, process, or store full cardholder data. All sensitive payment information (such as card numbers, expiry dates, and CVV codes) is transmitted securely and encrypted end-to-end between the customer and the PSP.
3.3. All transactions are authenticated through 3-D Secure (3DS) technology — also known as Visa Secure and Mastercard Identity Check — to meet Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) requirements under PSD2.
This may include verification via:
- a one-time password (OTP);
- biometric verification (e.g., fingerprint or face ID); or
- confirmation via a secure banking app.
4. Strong Customer Authentication (SCA)
4.1. In compliance with PSD2 and SCA regulations, all cardholders must complete additional verification for online payments exceeding the applicable threshold or identified as higher-risk.
4.2. Gleeful.me’s payment processor will automatically trigger SCA during checkout where required. Failure to complete authentication may result in payment rejection or transaction cancellation.
4.3. By proceeding with payment, you agree to cooperate with your card issuer’s authentication process.
5. Transaction Authorisation
5.1. By entering your card details, you authorise:
- Gleeful.me’s payment processor to charge the specified amount for your purchase; and
- Any applicable service fees, taxes, or adjustments disclosed at the time of payment.
5.2. You confirm that you are the lawful holder of the payment card used.
6. Charges and Fees
6.1. All prices are displayed in GBP (£) or other supported currencies where applicable, inclusive of VAT (if relevant).
6.2. Gleeful.me may charge service fees to Buyers or Sellers as disclosed prior to payment confirmation.
6.3. Your issuing bank may apply currency conversion or international transaction fees where applicable. Gleeful.me is not responsible for such third-party charges.
7. Payment Confirmation
7.1. Upon successful completion of a transaction, you will receive an electronic confirmation or receipt via email or within your account dashboard.
7.2. A transaction is considered complete only when Gleeful.me or its payment processor has received full cleared funds.
8. Payment Security and Fraud Prevention
8.1. Gleeful.me employs fraud-prevention systems in collaboration with its PSPs to detect and prevent unauthorised or suspicious transactions.
8.2. Transactions flagged as potentially fraudulent may be delayed, reviewed, or cancelled pending verification.
8.3. Gleeful.me reserves the right to:
- Request additional verification or identification before processing a payment; and
- Refuse or cancel any transaction that appears to violate applicable law, card scheme rules, or Platform policies.
9. Refunds and Chargebacks
9.1. Refund eligibility depends on the applicable Seller policy or as otherwise required by UK consumer law.
9.2. All refunds (where applicable) are processed to the original card used for payment.
9.3. Buyers should contact the Seller first regarding disputes. Gleeful.me may, at its discretion, facilitate dispute resolution but is not responsible for payment reversal decisions made by card issuers.
9.4. Chargebacks initiated through your card issuer are subject to the Visa and Mastercard dispute procedures. Abuse of the chargeback process may result in account suspension.
10. Compliance with PSD2 and Card Scheme Rules
10.1. Gleeful.me and its payment partners comply with:
- The UK Payment Services Regulations 2017 (implementing PSD2);
- The Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) standards;
- The Visa Core Rules and Mastercard Transaction Processing Rules.
10.2. Any breach of these regulations may lead to suspension or termination of the offending account.
11. Limitation of Liability
Gleeful.me is not responsible for:
- Payment failures caused by network issues, card issuer rejection, or authentication errors;
- Delays attributable to your bank or PSP; or
- Unauthorised use of your card due to negligence in safeguarding your credentials.
